District Award of Merit - A special award given to Scouters who dedicate his or her time to serve the Lighthouse District. This special Scouter must also be involved in community service and be dedicated to serving youth. This is the highest award that can be bestowed upon a Scouter at the District Level. 1) Angel Award

Scouters who are always helpful, cheerful, and friendly beyond the call of duty.

2) Good Turn Award

One who has made a significant contribution in time, effort, staffing, organizing and participating in the District and Council programs or activities. Shares knowledge and ideas.

3) Cheerful Scouter

Has model attitude, big smile, is friendly and fair to all in spite of "Irksome Tasks" that befall us.

4) Whale of a Job

Made a significant contribution in organization and implementation of one or more successful "Activities" at which scouts participated and had fun learning and/or teaching scouting skills.

5) Beacon Award

One who has made contributions to the district over many years and continues to inspire and guide by freely sharing knowledge and experiences. Is an inspiration and example to others in dress, speech, attitude, scout spirit and leadership.

6) Scoutmaster of the Year

Scoutmaster who has exemplified the role of scoutmaster in his/her actions, attitude, and knowledge of scouting ways, is a role model to boys in scouting and lives the scout oath and law in everyday life.

7) Cubmaster of the Year

Cubmaster who has exemplified the role of Cubmaster in his/her actions, attitudes and knowledge of scouting ways, is a role model and lives the scout oath and laws in everyday life.

8) Scouter of the Year

For significant all round participation and contribution to Scouting at both the district and unit level. Inspires and promotes scouting. Lives by the oath and law in everyday life.

9) Lifesaver Award

For a Scouter who has come to the rescue of the District at a moment of great need.
