The Elgixin Chapter meets on the fourth Monday of each month of the year, at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Margate at 7:30 p.m. We invite all our OA Brothers & Sisters to attend and join us in fellowship and service.

Lighthouse District - News, Events & Calendar

The Purposes and Principles of the Order of the Arrow.

To recognize those campers - Scouts and Scouters - who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and by such recognition cause other campers to conduct themselves in such manner as to warrant recognition.

To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit.

To promote Scout camping, which reaches its greatest effectiveness as a part of the unit's camping program, both year-round and in the summer camp, as directed by the camping committee of the council.

To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.

"I would rather see a sermon than hear one any day
I would rather that you'd walk with me
Than merely show the way
For the eye is a better pupil; more willing than the ear
Fine counsel is confusing; but your action is always clear.
I can soon learn how to do it; if you would let me see it done.
I can watch your hands in action, but your tongue too fast may run.
The lectures you deliver may be very wise and true.
But I can get a better lesson by observing what you do.
For I may misunderstand you in the high advice you give.
But there is no misunderstanding on how you act and live. "
