Shelly Volk

Shelly Volk  was a beautiful girl and a dear friend of ours, whose life was cut short by a brain tumor at the age of 7 on December 6, 1998.

Shelly was a member of Brownie Troop 1205 (sponsored by the Jewish Community Center of Ann Arbor, Michigan).  Many of the girls in Brownie Troop 1205 have gone on to be part of Junior Girl Scout Troop 1205.

We think about Shelly so often.  We miss her a lot.

A lovely tree was planted in Shelly's memory outside our school, the Ann Arbor Hebrew Day School.  We treasure our memories of Shelly.  Among her many special qualities, Shelly was very artistic, very honest, and very brave.  We are glad to welcome Shelly's younger sister to the kindergarten of our school in the Fall of 1999.

Shelly's parents have created a wonderful memorial website.  Please visit it at

Please sign the guest book there.  Shelly's parents would like to know that you learned about Shelly via the Scouting Memorial page.
