Preston Robert Heald

 My son is Preston Robert Heald (1/10/80 thru 1/19/96). He (and my husband and myself) have been active in scouting since 1987 when he first signed up for Tiger Cubs. We climbed the ranks together through Life Scout.

 He experienced our district summer camp as well as several out of state camps. He successfully completed COPE and several High Adventure camps, including SeaBase and Philmont (he was elected Patrol Leader by his peers).

He completed JLT and served as summer camp counselor at Camp Miles, FL. He had been very active in the OA holding "chief" positions and others.

He had a smile and a helping hand for peers and younger scouts, including his brother. His life ended a bit too soon to complete his Eagle project (one step away), so we as registered Cub Scout and Scouters completed his project.

 In his memory, a summer camp scholarship was set up in Alligator District.

Scouting was a major part of his earthly life and shall continue to be so.
