Edward Craig
Boy Scout Troop 164, sponsored by the North Church of Portsmouth, NH, in the Historic District of the Daniel Webster Council, was greatly saddened by the sudden loss of Assistant Scoutmaster Edward Craig. The loss was unexpected.
Ed was a very active person and showed no signs of medical problems. Ed suffered a fatal heart attack on monday the 23rd of December 1996, while at work.
Ed was a loyal Scouter in not only the troop, but also Pack 164, the Historic District, and served as Cub Scout advancement chairman for Daniel Webster Council. Ed chaired camporees, Webelos in the woods programs and participated in many other scouting activities.
Ed died one month before he would have celebrated his fiftieth birthday. Ed's death was a devastating loss to all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.
He was an active supporter of his two sons in their Cub Scout and Boy Scout pursuits and we extend our sympathy to his wife Jill and his sons, Brian and Josh.
Troop 164 is honoring Ed with a black epaulet ribbon instead of the red, worn on the left shoulder, closest to our hearts. This will be worn for a year, in rememberance of a good father, good husband, and good scouter.
May you rest in peace Ed Craig!!
