Mr. Lloyd V. Collins
Lloyd V. Collins Jr. was a Scoutmaster to hundreds of scouts during his many years of involvement. Lloyd was active duty Air Force for over fifteen years and thus traveled to many different troops and councils around the world.
He came into my life in 1982 in Concord, California. He was my Scoutmaster, role model, and closest friend untill his death of cancer October 8, 1990 at the age of only 39.
Lloyd's favorite place in the world was Philmont and he took troops there several times. He lead over 20 different 50-milers and was active in several OA lodges. He attended two National Jamborees.
Lloyd was a member of the following Councils: Golden Empire, National Capital Area, Pikes Peak, W. Michigan Shores, Far East, Aloha, Mt. Diablo, Mission, Denver, Monterey Bay Area, Four Lakes, Redwood Area, and probably several others.
Lloyd was buried in Monterey California and according to his wishes the headstone reads:
