Mr. Al Blackowski
It is with great regret that I announce the passing
of one of our own.
On Wednesday, 6 November, Mr. Al Blackowski died.
Mr. "B", as he was affectionately known to both
young and old, was a World War II Navy veteran, as well as a Vigil member of
the Aquaninonlke Lodge 359 and a member of Troop 40, St. Brendan Church in Clifton
NJ for over 40 years.
During Mr. B's tenure at Troop 40, he touched the
lives of thousands of boys and adults. Over a dozen Eagle Scouts were earned.
The bulk of the current leadership at Troop 40 today were Boy Scouts under Mr.
B's watchful eyes over 25 years ago, including our Current Scoutmaster Dave
Pavoni, and two Assistant Scoutmasters, Mike Vasilik and Eagle Scout Ron Rychowski.
We plan to perform the Broken Arrow ceremony in
memory of Mr. B on Sunday night. It is his family's wishes that the pallbearers
be the very Scouts he helped mold into todays adult Scout leaders.
It is true.....One Man......One Life.....Many Touched.
To Mr. B:..... A hundred years from now it will
not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind
of car I drove. But the world may be different, because I was important in the
life of a boy.
