George Robert Fabie - BSA

George Robert Fabie... member of
my Wood Badge Patrol, and long time beloved
and dear friend, died this May after a sudden and short illness. The world
(and I) have lost a dedicated man. Dedicated to his children, his friends,
his beautiful art, and to Scouting.
Having served as a long term Scoutmaster
in Evanston Illinois, he went on to serve
in various positions at the district level, including District Chairman.
George was an extremely gifted artist who's beautiful soul showed through
his creations. I thank God for the sketch hanging in my office, drawn
by my dear friend!
If there has ever been someone who embodied the Scout Law, it was
George. I was stunned to hear of his passing, but it was with relief that
I found he had not suffered long.
His life was a great one, and he will be long remembered for that shoulder to
cry on
when a friend needed him, for the perseverance to fight for the kids in our
movement, and for his
wonderful art. I, as many others, will miss him forever!
